The 31st World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy was held at Soongsil University in Seoul, Korea, from July 7 to July 12, 2024, under the theme “The Rule of Law, Justice, and the Future of Democracy”. The 31st World Congress of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy was held at Soongsil University in Seoul, Korea, on December 12, 2012, with the theme “The Rule of Law, Justice, and the Future of Democracy. The World Congress of Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy is held every two years and was attended by more than 700 scholars from all over the world, including Prof. Michael J. Sandel of Harvard University, Justice Young Joon KWON of the Supreme Court of Korea, Prof. Julie Saada of the Institut d'études politiques de Paris, and Prof. Martin Krygier of the University of New South Wales, Prof. Maria Grahn-Farley of the University of Gothenburg, Prof. Yuichiro Mori of Hokkaido University, etc. delivered keynote speeches at the Congress.

Prof. Ding Wei of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau was invited to be the convenor of Special Workshop 77 (Special Workshop No. 77). The Special Workshop hosted by Prof. Ding Wei was held on July 11, 2024. Professor Yu Xingzhong, Chair Professor of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau, participated in this workshop and gave a presentation on “Game Capitalism: Role of Meta-universes and Large Language Models”.

The World Congress of Philosophy of Law is the highest level international academic conference in the field of philosophy of law and social philosophy. The successful participation in the conference shows the style of the scholars and students of HEC, and has an important role in promoting international cooperation and exchange, carrying out academic dialogues, improving the international academic reputation and influence of the university, enhancing the level of scientific research, strengthening the construction of academic disciplines and the cultivation of postgraduate students.
