The 2025 China-Germany Civil Dialogue on Disability and Sustainable Development was held in Beijing on November 18-19,2025. Hosted by the Adenauer Foundation, the event under the theme 'The Invisible Weight' aimed to build a cross-cultural exchange platform between China and Germany in the disability sector. Associate Professor Wu Ji from our institute was invited to deliver a keynote speech.
This dialogue, co-hosted by the Adenauer Foundation Beijing Office and the One Plus One Disability Public Welfare Group, brought together Chinese and German experts, scholars, civil society representatives, and policymakers in the disability sector. The discussions centered on four key themes: political participation, support services, emotional labor, and oversight mechanisms. Associate Professor Wu Ji delivered a keynote speech titled "Interactive Development Pathways of Autism Social Organizations," analyzing the current state and optimization directions of autism social organizations through practical case studies. His presentation offered insights that combined theoretical depth with practical value.
Furthermore, scholars and experts from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Sun Yat-sen University, and other institutions, along with public welfare organizations, participated in roundtable discussions. They exchanged insights on key issues such as advocacy strategies for disability organizations and family involvement in democratic consultations for individuals with intellectual disabilities, contributing academic wisdom to promote the orderly participation of people with disabilities in social governance.
This conference has fully demonstrated our institute's faculty's academic prowess and influence in disability studies, establishing an international platform for academic exchange and collaboration. It further promotes the cutting-edge and diversified development of related disciplines and research.
